Mrs. Evelyn Underhill Emery, 87, of McMinnville died Wednesday, March 23 at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville, TN. She was born February 24, 1929 in Cannon County, was a homemaker, and a member of Bonner Church of Christ. Mrs. Emery was preceded in death by parents Edd  and Hassie Tate Underhill, her husband John B. Emery, a son Paul John Emery, and a brother Eugene Underhill.
Survivors include her daughter Linda McDowell, grandchildren Eugene (Sarah) Starkey, Kathy Fay McDowell, and James T. McDowell, sister Joy (Frank) Beach, brothers Ed (Juanita) Underhill, White (Mag) Underhill, and Douglas (Dot) Underhill. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Tim Long will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The Emery family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
