McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Evelyn Joyce Drake, 78, was born July 30, 1939 and died May 17 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. A homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Orville Vernice and Mattie Cleo Blankenship Hutchins. She was married to John Morris Drake, who preceded her in death Aug. 10, 2002.
