McMinnville resident and Bulls Gap, Tenn., native Ernest Everett “Ernie” Frankenberg, 73, was born Aug. 1, 1945 and died Jan. 17 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
Retired from sales, a United States Navy veteran of 15 years who served in Vietnam, and attended First Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Louis Edwin and Virginia Rose Turner Frankenberg Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Jeanette Carol Harper.
He was married April 8, 1978 to Deborah “Debbie” Preston Frankenberg of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Louis Edwin and Nancy Frankenberg Jr. of Morristown; sister and brother-in-law Virginia Rose and Pete Mellinger of Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Preston of McMinnville and Gerlinde Rogers of Rock Island; mother-in-law Frances James of McMinnville; father-in-law Harry Preston of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan, 26, at High’s Parlor with military grave rites to be conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion 173 following the service.
