Edith Robinson Smith, 95, of McMinnville died Saturday, Aug. 17, at Horizon Health & Rehab Center in Manchester.
She was born Nov. 3, 1917, in Warren County, was retired from the sewing department with Genesco Shoe, and was a Presbyterian. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by parents Noah and Mary Belinda Jacobs Robinson; husband, Alton James (A.J.) Smith; sister, Ethel Ritchey, and brothers J.K., Charlie, Tommie, Willie, Gomer, Pleas, and Dallas Robinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marilyn Smith of Houston, Texas, Ralph and Betty Smith of McMinnville, and James and Mary Jo Smith of Manchester; grandchildren, Stacy (Eric) Wilson, Suzanne (Johnny) Reed, Angie (Jim) Thomas, Artie (Kelly) Smith, Andrew (Mitzi) Smith, Candace Smith, Ariel Smith, Nicholas Ashley, and Tania Demeris; great-grandchildren, Kaci Wilson Daily, Nathanael Wilson, Justin Reed, Ashley and Wesley Thomas, Lauren, Logan, Chris, and Reagan Smith; sisters-in-law, Lorene Robinson, Betty Jo Jordan, and Doris Markum; and brother-in-law, Rev. Carl Smith. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Her great-grandson Justin Reed will officiate. Interment will follow at Centertown Cemetery. The Smith family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
