Manchester resident and Madison County, Ala., native Edith Faye Cox, 70, was born Sept. 19, 1944 and died suddenly April 29 at Manchester Medical Center.A homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Flossie Cothren. She was married April 9, 1960 to Morris Ray Cox, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Darrell Cox; sister, Eveline Quick; and great-granddaughter, Macey Summers.She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, William and Sandra Cox of Manchester and Timothy “Timmy” Cox of Manchester; four grandchildren, Natasha Merriman, Misty Cox, Daryl Cox and Zachary Cox, all of Manchester; two great-grandchildren, Braedon Steward and Morgan Summers; sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Lewis Cox of Hazel Green, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Brenda Cothren of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Fred “Bootie” Quick of Fayetteville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with John Cox officiating.
