Earl Edward Hobbs, 80, of the Skymont community died Saturday, Jan. 17. He is survived by his special friend, neighbor and caregiver, Anna Swaney; sisters Mary Ellen “Toodie” Myers of Altamont, Mildred (Franklin) Johnson of Hubbard’s Cove, and Ruth Johnson of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews.He was born in McMinnville Oct. 13, 1934 to Odie and Lyda Myers Hobbs, who preceded him in death along with his infant sister, Mary Frances Hobbs; brothers, Delbert, Elmer and Billy Hobbs; wife, Grace Johnson Hobbs. He was a member of Light House Bible Church in Viola.Funeral services were Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ralph Springer, T.L. Smith and David Lance officiating with burial following at Altamont Cemetery.
