Doug Travis, 87, a McMinnville resident and Woodbury native, was born Sept. 8, 1929 and died March 16 in Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. He was retired from Century, a member of East End Church of Christ, and son of the late B.F. and Jessie Mae Gilley Travis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Derrick Fane Travis, Betty Jo Jordan and Gail Elaine Travis.Mr. Travis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Travis; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Alan Holder of Jonesboro, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law Brent and Tracie Travis of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Sam Holder, Gabrielle Holder, Cindy Travis Saldana and Adeline Travis; three great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Dean Young of McMinnville.
