McMinnville native and Antioch resident Doug Cantrell, 63, died May 2 at his home.A self-employed technical management consultant, he loved playing music and could play almost every stringed instrument, and was an avid cook whose passion was learning and research.The son of the late Lilburn Clinton and Clora Simons Cantrell, he is survived by daughters, Anna-Kathryne Iversen (Rick Frazier) of Nashville, Caroline Marie (Jeff) Crowley of Spring Hill, and Leah Claire (Derrick) Cathey of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren; sister, Diana Kay (Aaron) Durham of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Laine Cantrell of Murfreesboro; nieces, Samantha Cantrell, Kamie Gann Smith and Amanda Cantrell Roche; and his colleagues at M.G. Taylor. He was preceded in death by brother, James Kenneth Cantrell.A memorial will be held May 19 at Vanderbilt Center for Better Health at 3401 West End Avenue, Suite 290, Nashville.
