Dorothy Ruth Simons, 79, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born March 13, 1937 and died Jan. 18 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center following an extended illness.She was a retired CNA with NHC Healthcare of McMinnville, a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and daughter of the late William Sterling and Velma Lou Simmons Pendleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Alonzo Simons; brother Billy Pendleton; and sister Wilma Jean Pendleton.Mrs. Simons is survived by son and daughter-in-law Ricky and Donna Simons of McMinnville; daughter Donna Long of McMinnville; and four grandchildren, Kendra Simons, Sarah Blair, Nick Long and Kacy Nelson, all of McMinnville.Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Nick Pelham to officiate. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.
