Dorothy Mansell Sherrell Copeland, 88, of Athens died Thursday night, Dec. 31 at Life Care Center of Athens.
She was a native of White County and was the daughter of the late George Edward and Lizzie Jane Eller Mansell. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Clarence Sherrell; her second husband, Bob Copeland, and brother James Mansell.
She was a member of Genesis Baptist Church of Athens. She was a graduate of Nashville Business College and was associated with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 30 years as a clerk in Warren County and Coffee County offices.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rev. Pete Mullins of Athens; one granddaughter and her husband, Tara and Rev. Mark Wade of Etowah; two grandsons and their wives, Joshua and Christa Mullins of Acapulco, Mexico, Adam and Summer Mullins of Riceville; 10 great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Christian and Camden Wade, David, Abigail and Sophia Mullins, Brady, Bryce, Bree, and Brax Mullins.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Mullins officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Genesis Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
