McMinnville resident and Putnam County native Dorothy Dean Matheney Holder, 90, was born June 9, 1922 and died April 7 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a lingering illness.A retired supervisor at Rockford Textile, a member of VFW Post 5064 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Homer B. and Rena Evans Matheney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Gordon “Bill” Matheney, Carl Benton Matheney and Charles Owen Matheney; sister, Ruby Inez Powell and son, Johnie Newton Mills Jr.Mrs. Holder is survived by one daughter, Sue Adcock of Warren County; three grandchildren, Susan (Jeff) Smith of Rock Island, and John Gordon Adcock and Ronnie Newton Adcock, both of McMinnville; seven great-grandchildren, Kristen, Lindsay, Cody and Brooke Adcock, Brittany Jones and husband Michael, Micha Gentry and Taylor Smith, and two great-great grandchildren.A graveside service and interment was held Tuesday at Friendship Cemetery with Jackie Matheny officiating.High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
