Doris Eugene Holland, 82, a Warren County resident and native, was born June 4, 1935 and died March 22 at his residence following an extended illness.
A loving father, devoted husband, an accomplished nurseryman and a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Claude and Jewell Walker Holland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Roger Dale Holland; five sisters, Mattie Thompson, Jill Byrd, Annie Burbage, Joyce Whiteaker and Johnnie Maxwell; and three brothers, Chester Holland, George Holland and Willard Jackson Holland.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myrtle Morton Holland; children and spouses, Ronnie and Treva Holland, Teresa Delong, Mark Holland and Phillip and Angela Holland, all of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, Melanie Holland King, Jessica Holland, Chris and Brent Delong, Travis Holland, Anita West, Rachael Russ, Maria Lanier, Phillip Holland Jr. and Billy Holland; seven great-grandchildren Jordan, Allison, Remington, Evelyn, Audrey, Blake and Constance; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Catherine Holland of McMinnville, Donald Holland of Eagleville, and Earl and Ruth Holland of LaVergne; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 26, at High’s Chapel with Trent Key and Lee Hennessee to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. Monday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
