Donald Lee Basham, 71, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native died April 28 in NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness.

He was a retired nurseryman and owner of Don Basham Nursery, member of Unity Church of Christ, and son of the late Herman and Opal Lucille Jones Basham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Charles Basham.

Mr. Basham was married May 1, 1965 to Helen Ann Howard Basham, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and David Jennings and Billie Jean Fults, all of Morrison; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Jo Basham of Rock Island, Ray and Pat Basham and Bobby and Dianna Basham, all of McMinnville and Bernie & Dianne Basham of Morrison; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy Basham of McMinnville, Stella Howard and Charlotte and Walter Thompson all of Spencer; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bron and Jeana Howard of Spencer. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Harold Cook to officiate. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Sunday until time of service at High’s.
