Donald "Don" Louis Leatherwood, 82

McMinnville resident and Blount County native Donald “Don” Louis Leatherwood, 82, was born June 13, 1932 and died March 3 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.
Retired from the Warren County Sanitation Department, a United States Air Force veteran of Korea, and a member of Dibrell Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Jack Hoyle and Nellie Jewel Greer Leatherwood.
He was married June 8, 1963 to Lou Yarbrough Leatherwood of McMinnville. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by sister-in-law, Mary Escue of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William “Bo” and Barbara Yarbrough of Illinois; grandson, Matthew Young of McMinnville; granddaughter, Kendra Napier of McMinnville; great-grandson, Jordon Young of McMinnville; special niece, Carol Tompkins and husband Tom of Ripley; special friend, Holly Bess of McMinnville; and several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in High’s Chapel with David Greene and Paul Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High’s.
