Derek Edward Halfacre, 55, of Rock Island died July 29 at STRHS-Winchester.He was born Dec. 29, 1961 to the late James Henry Halfacre and Billie Jean Smith Halfacre. He loved to read, write, keep up with politics and enjoyed fishing in his younger years. Derek had served in the U.S. Navy and also donated time to build a house with Habitat for Humanity.
