McMinnville resident and Brady, Texas native Dean Ivan Gillespie Sr., 78, was born April 24, 1933 and died March 23 at Alive Hospice in Nashville following a two-week illness. A civil engineer with Bridge Builders and member of Christ United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late David D. Gillespie Sr. and Jessie Blankenship Edwards. He was married Feb. 5, 1977 to Martha Ann Ashley Gillespie who preceded him in death Jan. 31, 2009.
