Darius Michael “Reese” Bishop, 33, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital.
He was born Jan. 3, 1986 in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Thelma Jean Grayson Bishop of McMinnville and the late James Alvin Bishop.
He was a 2004 graduate of Warren County High School. He worked at General Mills in Murfreesboro. He was known as “Reese” by family and friends. Darius “Reese” loved playing basketball. He was No. 23 on the basketball team in high school. He was known as “King Bishop” by his peers.
In addition to his father in 2007, he was preceded in death by niece Danielle Capri Weir in 2018.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Christopher L. and Rita Weir of Murfreesboro; two sisters and brother-in-law, Patrice A. and Danny Martin of McMinnville and Sonja D. Raines of Detroit, Mich.; special aunt Debra Strodes and husband Ronnie; special uncle Thomas “Tommy” Grayson and wife Deborah; special niece Sharunda Weir; special nephew Donta Weir; special friends Gerald Roberts, Courtney Martin, Leanne Pelham, Michael Ellis, Justin Vaughn and Rapheal Simpson; and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at High’s Chapel with Eugene Wilkerson officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
