Curtis Vernon Hughes Jr., 75, of McMinnville died Sunday, July 5, at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.He was born Sunday, Dec. 10, 1939 in Bridgeton, N.J., the son of the late C.V. Hughes and Mary Chard Hughes. He is survived by daughters Mona Bennett and Alicia Rae Chapman, sons Curtis C. Hughes and Dax R. Hughes, granddaughters Alyssia Bennett and Jaclyn Marie Hughes, grandson Zack Scheller, cousins Donald Johnston, Judy Hakoka and Steve Young, and friend and caregiver Alan Williams.A memorial service will be held at Gath Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 1, at noon with Bro. Ray Gilder and Allen Williams officiating.
