DeleteFuneral services for Cortis Lee Craighead, 72, of Gainesboro were held Tuesday at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville.
He died on Saturday, Sept. 22 at his residence. He was born March  30, 1940, in Smith County to the late Close B. Craighead and Berthie C. Craighead. On July  4, 1959, he was married to Elaine Craighead, who survives. 
He was a retired district manager for Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation. He was an avid sports lover, and a member of Gainesboro First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Craighead of Gainesboro; sons, Tracy (Mickey) Craighead of McMinnville, Tony (Ann) Craighead of Cookeville, and Jason (Jennifer) Craighead of McMinnville; daughter, Patricia Craighead and Sherry Blair of Smyrna; six grandchildren, Zachary, Mary Elizabeth, Makenzie, Katlyn, Kelly, and Casi; great-grandchild, Carter; and brother, Paul (Oneita) Craighead of Huntsville, Ala.; several nieces, other relatives, and friends also survive. Shirley Ingram, Rev. Russ Cain, and Rev. Kathie Bowles will officiate at the services.
