Clifton O.B. Boyd, 78, of College Street in Spencer died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.He was born in Cagle on April 27, 1933, the son of the late Bud and Fannie (Bouldin) Boyd.He was a graduate of Nashville Barber College and worked as a barber from 1967 to 2005. He was a member of the Church of Christ.He is survived by three sons, Davey Boyd and wife Margaret of Spencer, Bert Boyd of Crossville and Jodi Boyd of Smithville; daughter, Vivian Boyd Sparkman and husband Gary of Sparta; two granddaughters, MacKenzi Sparkman Aaron and husband Nathan of Sparta, and Jana Rhea Asberry of Crossville; two brothers, Ausbon Boyd and wife Carolyn of Spencer, Teddy Boyd and wife Olivia of McMinnville; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.In addition to his parents, Clifton was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Louise Boyd, three sisters Emma Link, Audry Davis, and Treva Huntly, and two brothers Paul Boyd and L.B. Boyd.Funeral service will be at Spencer Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday with Gene Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Town Cemetery.
