McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Clifford W. Walker, 73, was born Nov. 2, 1943 and died Nov. 18 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness.
The owner of Walker Sod Farm, a veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard, and a member of Smartt Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Louis Dotson and Martha Jane Welch Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Annie Rosetta Hickerson, L.D. Walker, Inez Boren and Carl N. Walker.
He was married July 17, 1966 to Virgie Sullivan Walker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Dorinda Walker of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Kyler, Livia and Macie Walker, all of McMinnville; sister Parthenia Juanita Cantrell of Seymour; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Reba Walker of McMinnville; special nephew, Ron Neale and wife Kathy of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Melonie Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of service Sunday at High’s.
