Clemmie Jean Simmons, 87, of McMinnville died Sunday, May 28, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.She was born Dec. 4, 1929 in Warren County, was retired from Findlay Industries, participated in bowling leagues, was active at the Senior Center and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Noval Wheeler Madewell, husband Harold C. Simmons, brothers William Madewell, Richard Madewell, and Wheeler Madewell, and sister Frances Meadows.Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Debbie) A. Grissom, sisters Rosie Madewell of McMinnville and Margaret White of Indiana, grandchildren Phillip Grissom, Shannon Grissom, and Chris Grissom, great-grandchildren, Condy Ayers and LeeLoo Grissom, special friend Sherry Bouldin, and Christy and Brandon Stallings. Several other family members and friends also survive.Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
