Claudda Etelka McKinney Barrett died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 14.
She was born to beloved parents Claude and Lenora McKinney on Oct. 5, 1933 in Guadalupe County, Texas. She was married to her eternal sweetheart, John Clark Barrett, June 8, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with a beautiful posterity of five children; son, Ken Barrett and four daughters, Laura (Darrell) Decker, Billye (Tim) Hitchcock, Ruth (John) Layne, and Christina Hilliard; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with five additional arriving this year.
She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved and served our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, as best she could throughout her life. She truly was a friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kuhl McKinney and Rocellus McKinney. She leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, brother, Richard McKinney, many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Legacy Funeral Home, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
