Clarence Hardie Mitchell, 86

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Clarence Hardie Mitchell, 86, was born April 15, 1927 and died April 18 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Mitchell was the retired superintendent of operations at Caney Fork Electric Cooperative and a member of Dibrell Church of Christ. He was the son of the late James Lee and Rosa Belle Glenn Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Roller and Elsie Williamson.
He was married Oct. 7, 1950 to Juanita Smith Mitchell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Barbara Mitchell of Birmingham, Ala., and Glenn and Vickie Mitchell, and Darrell and Kathy Mitchell, all of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Jane Ann Bryant, Phil Hitchcock and Shane Kelley, all of McMinnville, and Krista Blackwell of Murfreesboro; four great-grandchildren and brother, Everette Lee Mitchell of McMinnville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Brian Wynne and Shane Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
