Loving husband, father and “Papa,” Clarence Arnold Wilson, 69, died Jan. 8 at the VA Hospice in Clearwater, Fla.Born July 14, 1947 in Sparta, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Carl Wilson and Zula Mae Clouse Wilson, as well as his sister, Wilma Jean Wilson.He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carrie Jane Pyburn Wilson of Sparta; two brothers, William Haston Wilson and Everett Monroe Wilson, both of Sparta; one sister, Thelma Elise Wilson Price of Sparta; two children, Edie Gayle Oliver and Waymon Gary (Jayna) Milstead, both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kylie (Shane) Medley, Gary (Kayla) Milstead, Ethan Milstead, Mya Buell-Oliver, Bayli Janell Milstead and Jayse Daniel Milstead, all of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Gracie Stafford and Karaline Milstead, both of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Wilson proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1975. He retired from Middle Tennessee Natural Gas in 2006, and enjoyed camping and fishing until his death. He was a member of New Hope Church of Christ in Clearwater.
