Morrison resident and Sycamore, IL native Christy Carlson, 52, was born June 28, 1969 and died Dec. 4 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a sudden illness.           

A factory worker at Doyle Shirt Factory and a member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of Barbara Gibbs of McMinnville, and the late James Paul Carlson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by special nephew, RayShawn Blu Hillis.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Carlson is survived stepfather, Robert Gibbs of McMinnville, daughter and son-in-law, Keesha Ann and Matt Ramsey of McMinnville, granddaughter and joy of her life, Maddison Alianna Faith Ramsey, brother and sister-in-law Charles Darrin and Monica Carlson of McMinnville, niece, Cali Carlson of McMinnville, three nephews Cole Carlson of Sparta, Cade Carlson of Estill Springs, and Tripp Martin of McMinnville, special friends, Judy Hillis of McMinnville, Nickie Anderson of McMinnville, Brenda Black of Morrison, Jessica King of Fostoria, Ohio, and Don Hillis, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles also survive.

She will be missed dearly and is loved very much. The family request memorial donations be made to: National Kidney Foundation or American Cancer Society. Ms. Carlson will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
