Chester Louis Richmond, 92, of Tampa, Fla., passed from this life Sunday, November 25.


He was born Monday, Nov. 8, 1926 in St. Charles, Va., the son of the late Jim Richmond and Marie Richmond.


He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years Reba Richmond of Tampa, his son Larry and wife Sheryl Richmond, grandsons Ryan and Evan Richmond, all of Tampa, sister Garlis Rector of Oak Ridge, and an extended list of family, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Chester and Reba lived most of their adult life in Laurel, Md. In 2001, at the age of 74, Chester decided to retire and move to McMinnville, where Reba’s youngest brother and family were living. They moved to Tampa in 2018 to be with their son and his family.


In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his sisters Norma Jean Gatlin and Barbara Bauer.


Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 49 Golf Club Dr., McMinnville. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Smartt. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home and again Saturday, Dec. 8, at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McMinnville Medical Emergency Services.
