Chester L. Myers, 89, of McMinnville died Friday, May 6, at Raintree Manor after an extended illness.
He was born in Grundy County on Sept. 6, 1921 the son of the late Henry and Clara (Northcutt) Myers. He served his country in World War II as an Army private, was a nursery worker, and a member of Christian Fellowship Church. He was married to the late Willie Mae (Higgins) Myers. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son Alvin Myers, eight brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Raymond Myers of McMinnville, sons and daughters-in-law Charles D. Myers, Ricky D. Myers, Bennie L. Myers, Steve G. and Lisa Myers, Kenneth B. and Katie Myers, and Bobby D. and Misty Myers, all of McMinnville, sister Clemma Grace and husband Hottie Smith of McMinnville, and halfsister Julie Mae Myers of Altamont.
Funeral service is Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Sullivan and Bro. Scotty Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
Gardens of Memory is in charge of arrangements.
