Manchester resident Charles Lee “Chuck” Crosslin Jr., 88, was born in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Charles Lee and Bertha Leola Duncan Crosslin and died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Tennessee State Veteran’s Home in Murfreesboro.He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. After his time in the service, he worked as a salesman for Mid-State Paper and Notion in Nashville. He later owned and operated several businesses including a nursery business in McMinnville, Chuck’s Top of the Rock Truck Stop in Monteagle, and retired as owner of Crosslin Enterprises, LLC in Manchester.Mr. Crosslin was a member of Fredonia Church of Christ and most recently attended Main Street Church of Christ.
