Services to honor the life of Mr. Charles Edward “Mack” McBride, 90, took place at 10 a.m., Monday, June 21, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment followed at Hill Crest Memorial Park. 

Mack was born Dec. 13, 1930, in McMinnville and passed away on June 17. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 23 years in 1973. Following his military career, Mack worked security for Schumpert Medical Center, from which he also retired. He had many interests but none he enjoyed more than sports. He enjoyed them all but particularly Tennessee sports, LSU football, and the New Orleans Saints.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Elda C. and Carrie H. McBride, and siblings Ruby Brown, Howard, Thomas, Evelyn, Everette, and Robert McBride. He is survived by his daughter Charlotte Sheffield Milam (Keith), son Charles Edward “Bubba” Sheffield (Tina), sisters Carolyn Taylor and Lillie Nunley, grandchildren Dan Nevels (Amanda), Candice Nevels, Danielle Raborn, Kyle Milam, Kristina Shaw (Justin), and Jessica Stevens (Robby), 17 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
