McMinnville resident and Grundy County native, Carolyn Thelma Sims, 73, was born Feb. 10, 1949 and died Nov. 21, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.
A unit secretary from River Park Hospital and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Coalmont, she was the daughter of the late Claudie and Ollene King Pease. She was married to Wayne Sims, who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Jerry Sims; great-granddaughter, Aspyn Young and siblings, Ralph Pease, Jess Pease and Leon Pease.
Ms. Sims is survived by three children, Michael Sims (Melissa Roach) of Morrison, and Lori (Ricky) Cagle and Kim (Paul) Butcher, both of McMinnville; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine (Carl) Hobbs, Frances Turner, Patricia Turner and Hassie Forsythe, all of McMinnville; brother, Claude Pease of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Eva Lois and Gary Brady and Kim and Billy Hammons.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Ricky Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Grundy County. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
