Rock Island resident and Dayton, Ohio native Carol Elaine Pedigo, 71, was born June 16, 1943 and died May 12 at her residence following a brief illness. A retired hairdresser and a member of Unity Church in Cookeville, she was the daughter of the late Robert Nies and Hazel Thomas Bunger.She was married to Ron Pedigo of Rock Island. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Tim Winton of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Griffin, Kendall, Connor and Grace Winton, all of McMinnville; five stepchildren, Lisa Durham, of Nebraska, Amanda Pickett and Stephen Pedigo, both of Omaha, Neb., and Tonya Price and Ronda Gunter, both of McMinnville; 12 step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Nies of Florida, Ronald and Peggy Nies of Florida, and David and Becky Nies of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.A memorial celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 7 at the Lions Club in Rock Island.
