Carl Meadows Stanley, 78, a McMinnville resident and Spencer native, died Saturday at his home following a brief illness.He was the owner of Burroughs-Ross-Colville Company, a U.S. Army veteran, member of the Church Christ, and son of the late John Kendrick and Mary Rose Bennett Stanley.He was married Sept. 17, 1954 to Reita Bell Crouch Stanley, who preceded him in death March 27, 2007. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Scott and Carolyn Dunn.Mr. Stanley is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Mark Jacobs of McMinnville, Mary Ann and Pete Blankenship of McMinnville, and Liz Stanley of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, John Clark (Kelly) Jacobs of Thompson Station, Dean (Whitney) Blankesnhip of McMinnville, and Isabella and Molly Marchese of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Abby Shea Blankenship and Harper Meadows Jacobs; and brother, Larry (Diane) Stanley of McMinnville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Glenn Davis to officiate.
