Spencer resident and Van Buren County native Carl Brence Thomison, 81, was born Feb. 6, 1937 and died June 1 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired printer and a road maintenance worker with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, he was the son of the late Henry and Ida Grove Thomison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Charles Thomison; two sisters, Otela Thomison and Rita Johnson; and one great-grandchild, Sophia Mooney.
