Carl August Howard, 79, passed away June 23, at his residence in Smithville.
He was formerly of Maryland. He was born Oct. 9, 1942, to his parents the late Carl Saltan and Mary Bocklage Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Eddie Howard.
Mr. Howard was a member of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked as a machinist for Black-n-Decker: AAI: ICA: and EVI.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Howard of Smithville, children Carl A. (Lara) Howard II of Kentucky, and West (Carolyn) Howard of Gallatin, grandchildren Nathan Howard, Anna Howard, Bryce Howard, Courtney (Danny) Rodriguez, Koryn Howard, and Kendall Howard, great-grandchild Asher Jones, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday June 28, at 1 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with family officiating and burial followed at DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 28, from 12 p.m. noon until the time of the service. Pallbearers were Danny Rodriguez, Courtney Rodriguez, Nathan Howard, Bryce Howard, Carl Howard II, and West Howard.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
