Billy Joe Hobbs, 65, of Altamont died Wednesday, Oct. 5.
He was a member of Three Crosses at Calvary Church. He was born Aug. 16, 1946 to Hurvey and Rena Dykes Hobbs, who preceded him in death along with sister, Peggy Ruth Dykes and brother, Jack Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hobbs; sons, Willie (Lisa) Hobbs and James (April) Tate; daughters, Wilma (Allen) Fincher, Paula (Aaron) Taylor, Sandi (Joseph) Smartt, Bonnie (Michael) Green, Ashley Hampton (Colton Knight), Brandi (Ronnie) Bryant Jr. and Melissa (Michael) McGee; brother, Wendel McBride; sisters, Janie Talbert and Melba Williams; 27 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 
Funeral service was held Friday at Three Crosses at Calvary Church with ministers Ed Fults Sr., Ed Fults Jr., and Wayne Norris officiating. Burial followed King Cemetery. 
Layne Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements.
