Billy J. Chumbley, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, at his home following an extended illness. A native of Cannon County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Josie Neal Chumbley; brother, Joe Don Chumbley, and son-in-law, John Tigert. He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Sue Gilley Chumbley of Woodbury; three daughters Lorraine (Charles) Yancy of McMinnville, Karen Tigert and Ellen (Thomas) Mears both of Woodbury; two granddaughters Scarlett Yancy and Nicole Mears; stepgrandchildren, Candace and Kayla Mears and Trevor Yancy; siblings: Jean (Jess) Ferrell of Woodbury and Rachel (Levine) Billings of McMinnville.He was retired from General Electric and was a farmer.
