Billy David Brown, 70, of McMinnville passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 1, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.
He was born Thursday, Jan. 22, 1948 in McMinnville and was the son of the late Myrtle Grieves and I.L. Savage. He served in the U.S. Army, was a nurseryman and worked at A.O. Smith. Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. Bill’s giving nature will live on as he was an organ donor.
Bill is survived by his two daughters Amy Norville and Jessica Brown, three grandchildren Alex and Sydney Cassidy and Phoenix Simpson, brother Tommy Savage and wife Carla, three nephews Brandon Savage and wife Jenny, Daniel Savage and wife Makayla, and Jay Allyn Link, two nieces Kendra Rutledge and husband Ethan, and Vanessa McCormick, former wife Darlene Slaughter, special friends Earl and Brenda Anderson and Carl Young. Many other family members and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Whitney Brown, and stepfather Wilbur McGee.
Funeral service was Tuesday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Ronnie Powell officiating. Bill’s wish was to be cremated and there was no grave side service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to in honor of Whitney to the Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation at www.afesupport.org/ or to McMinnville Meals on Wheels.
