Billie Frances Elam, 88, of Morrison (Shady Grove community) died Monday, Feb. 10.
She was born July 3, 1925 in Coffee County and was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove the Baptist Church. Mrs. Elam was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Willie Jarrell Bell and her husband of 68 years Emmett B. Elam.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Ken) Blankenship of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Steve (Robin) Blankenship of Grapevine, Texas, and Kristi (Chris) Papa of Kennesaw, Ga., and great-grandchildren Ashley, Jack, and Ryan Blankenship and William and Caroline Papa. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Keith Sims, elder Charlie Nunley, and elder Lynn Anderson will officiate. The Elam family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
