Beulah Gilbert Evans, 93

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Beulah Gilbert Evans, 93, was born May 23, 1925 and died July 31 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.

Retired from Genesco and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John and Maude Thomison Gilbert. She was married to Nolan Evans, who preceded her in death July 12, 2014. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son Ronnie Evans; and five siblings, Vera Bouldin, Juanita Taylor, Lucille Van Winkle, Beatrice Evans and Billy Gilbert.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Opale and Billy Campbell of Smartt; three grandchildren and spouses, Ron and Teresa Evans of Clearwater, Fla., Patty and Billy Rife of Van Buren County, and Tammy and Roger Byars of McMinnville; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty Evans Boles of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Mildred Gilbert of Van Buren County; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Roberta Parmley of McMinnville, Sylvia and Gene Brock of Spencer, Wanda Warner of Crossville, and Rachel and Monroe Oakes of Rock Island.

Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, in High’s Chapel with Billy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
