Betty Sue Gilley Chumbley, 81, of Woodbury passed away at her home Monday, Feb. 3, following an extended illness. She was a native of Cannon County. 

She is survived by her daughters, Lorraine (Charles) Yancy of McMinnville, Karen Tigert of Woodbury and Ellen (Thomas) Mears of Woodbury, grandchildren Scarlett (Michael) Graham, Nicole Mears and Candace (Charlie) Rockhart, great-grandchildren Hayden and Carter Rockhart, siblings Charles Gilley of Murfreesboro, Patsy George of Woodbury, and Peggy Couch of McMinnville, and special caregiver and friend April Ferrell of Woodbury.

Ms. Chumbley was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. and Tennie Ferrell Gilley, husband Billy Chumbley and brother Alfred Gilley.

A member of Woodbury Church of Christ, Sue was a retired clerk at Colonial Corp. She loved to quilt and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Woodbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Gunter-Grizzle Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
