McMinnville resident and Sewanee native Betty Jane Ramsey, 80, was born Sept. 24, 1934 and died Feb. 12 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness.A homemaker and member of East End Drive Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ardella Winton Rutledge. She was married to Louis Leroy Ramsey who preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1995. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Louis Leroy and Darlene Ramsey Jr., of McMinnville, Richard Glenn Ramsey of Duluth, Ga., and Chad Everett Ramsey of McMinnville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Bennie Richard Rutledge of Dayton, Ohio; childhood friend, Kay Woodard; special friends, Ella Richmond, Susie Smith, Dorothy Solomon, and Martha, Odie and Annie Womack; devoted niece and nephew, Roxie Martin Franklin and Robert Martin and wife Maggie; special cousin, Henrietta France; and special thanks to Beverly Martin.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in High’s Chapel with George King officiating.
