Rock Island resident and DeKalb County native Betty Faye Jones Hobbs, 70, was born Dec. 27, 1942 and died May 27 at her sister’s residence following a brief illness.Retired from Magnetek and a member of Friendship the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Brackett Estes and Chloe Mai Stoner Jones. She was married to Leland Glen Hobbs, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Lee Jones Wilson and Opal Jones Cantrell.She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Thomas Bain of McMinnville and Richard Estes and Wendy Redmon of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Brandi Lorraine Bain of McMinnville, and Katelyn Madison Redmon, Chloe Grace Redmon and Logan Alexander Redmon, all of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandson, Isaac Andrew Newby; four sisters and brother-in-law, Arlene Oakley, Geraldean Reynolds and Gail Bouldin, all of McMinnville, and Johnnie Mai Jones and Wayne Greene of Rock Island; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Burton and Lena Jones of Smithville, and Clifton and Cheryl Jones of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with Jason Brown and Steve Breedlove officiating.
