Hazel Green, Ala., resident and Van Buren County native Bertie Ray Weitzel, 91, was born May 10, 1926 and died Aug. 13 at her grandson’s residence in Raleigh, N.C., following a brief illness. A retired employee of American Airlines, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Tucker and the late Ida Roberts Tucker Rutledge. She was married to Robert Weitzel, who preceded her in death in 1978.
