McMinnville resident and Warren County native Benny Jackson Black Sr., 72, died May 21 at Hospice of Chattanooga after a brief illness.A custodian at WCMS, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Gath Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Herman and Minnie Wood Black. He was also preceded in death by son Benjie Black, brother Michael Dale Black and sister Lucille Hudson.He is survived by his wife Nadine Hayes Black of McMinnville, sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Laurie Black, Benny Jr., and Sarah Black, and Ronald Black, all of McMinnville, stepsons and their wives, Allan and Angela Miller, Philip and Lisa Miller, Tyler and Lindsey Miller, and Casey and April Miller, all of McMinnville, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers John Black of Morrison, William Black, Gary Black, David Black, Freddy Black, and Richard Black, all of McMinnville, and Roger Black of Murfreesboro, sisters Shirley Starkey and Peggy Earls of McMinnville, and Betty Griffith of Smithville.Arrangements are incomplete at this time.High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard(McMinnville, Tenn.)
