Mrs. Barbara Pennington Witty, 78, of McMinnville died Saturday July 3, at Vanderbilt Health in Nashville. 

She was born Aug. 2, 1942, in McMinnville, was a homemaker and a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, was an avid college basketball fan and a Tennessee Vols fan, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Bernice Stanley Fults, first husband of 36 years Don Pennington, son Bradley Pennington, brothers Hubert Fults, Henry Fults, and Gerald Fults, aunt Essie Hillis, and stepdaughter Sandra Willoughby.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 20 years Howard W. Witty, children Brent Pennington, Greg (Sherry) Pennington, and Derrick Pennington, all of McMinnville, grandchildren Hannah Craig, Blake Pennington, Jake Pennington, Katy Pennington, Hallie Pennington, Chloe Pennington, and Isabella Pennington, step-granddaughter Katie Willoughby, and several nieces, nephews and family friends. 

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Tony Lawrence and Bro. Steve Hillis will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service time at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
