McMinnville resident and Easton, Penn., native Barbara Ann Tipton, 80, was born Sept. 7, 1940 and died May 28 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following an extended illness.             

A retired accountant with HCA and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was the daughter of the late Howard W. and Arlene Long Hawk. She was married on May 18, 1975 to John A. Tipton, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Larry Tipton and sister-in-law Mary Jane Hawk.

Mrs. Tipton is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Alan) Rising of McMinnville, two sons, Kenneth G. Tipton of McMinnville, and John Paul Tipton of Roanoke, Va., three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers and sister-in-law, Kirk Wilson of Bethlehem, Penn., and Douglas and Vickie Hawk of Walter Hill, TN; sister Rebecca Hawk of Ormond Beach, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews.
