Gallatin resident (formerly of McMinnville) and Warren County native Audrey S. Carothers, 91, was born Jan. 1, 1924 and died Feb. 11 in Gallatin Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Retired from Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Company and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Alva N. and Wava Webb Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Clendenon and Doris Perkins; and brother, Ralph Sanders.
She is survived by son, Michael S. Carothers of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Mark McKee III of Castalian Springs; three grandsons, Cody McKee of Alexandria, Va., Cade McKee and wife CarlaLee of Madison, Ala., and Luke McKee of Castalian Springs; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sandra Griffith of McMinnville, Edla Davis of Birmingham, Ala., and Patricia Maloney of Connecticut; and two brothers, Larry “Bud” Sanders of Birmingham, Ala, and Russell Sanders of Missouri.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Mark McKee III officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and from noon until the time of service Saturday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
