Arthur James Johnson, 75, of Puryer, died Thursday, April 27, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Bluff City, was a truck driver, a Baptist and was preceded in death by parents Arthur C. and Ethel M. Steelman Johnson, sisters Virginia Baxter, Polly Sue Nichols and Celia Johnson and brothers Woodrow, Johnny Mac and Tounsil Johnson.Survivors include his wife Rhonda Johnson; children Leisa (Earl) Erwin, Christina (Terry) Miles, Melissa (Edward) Tyrala, Amanda (Anthony) Perez, Arthur James (Raylee) Johnson Jr. and Mark J. (Magen) Johnson Sr.; stepson Matthew Belyew; brother Charles Conley Johnson; 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six great grandchildren, and one step-grandchild.Per his request, Mr. Johnson will be cremated. No immediate services are planned.
