Mrs. Annie Ruth Prater, 77, of McMinnville (Centertown community) died Friday, March 4, at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. 

She was born June 15, 1944, in Manchester, was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by her parents Nathan Thomas and Lucy Mae Finley Alford, and brothers Tom Alford, Bill Alford, George Allen Alford, Bob Alford, and Marion Alford.

Annie is survived by her husband of 55 years Jackie R. Prater, children Angela Acton, Jeff Prater, and Kim (Terry) Earls, sisters Mary Evelyn Johnson and Minerva Espy, brothers Henry (Carolyn) Alford and Donnie (Jan) Alford, grandchildren McKenzie Acton, Amber Gunter, and Dustin Reeves, and great grandchild Chase Reeves.

Graveside service and interment are scheduled for 12 p.m.  noon Monday, March 7, at Tucker Cemetery in Woodbury. Bro. Norman Pelham will officiate. The Prater family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and again from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Monday at McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
